Andalusia Accelerates Investment in Logistics and Connectivity

Andalusia is rapidly strengthening its position as a leading logistics hub in Southern Europe. The regional government has announced a €160 million investment plan to enhance the sector through 2030, focusing on intermodal connectivity, sustainable infrastructure, and strategic international partnerships.
Major Hubs Under Development
At the heart of this plan are major logistics developments such as the Lógica Platform in Cádiz, a € 70 million project creating a 120-hectare hub in Puerto Real with direct road and rail links to the port; the Puerto Seco in Antequera, set to become Andalusia’s largest logistics and industrial park; and Majarabique in Seville, which is evolving into an intermodal reference point with its first 66 hectares already under development. Expansion projects are also underway in Los Palacios y Villafranca (Palenquivir Business Logistics Park) and Dos Hermanas (La Isla Industrial Estate).
Boosting Intermodal Connectivity
In parallel, investments are improving the region’s intermodal transport system, connecting road, rail, sea, and air for greater efficiency and accessibility to both European and African markets. The initiative Invest in Andalucía plays a key role in attracting foreign investors and providing support for companies expanding their operations in the region.
Private Sector Driving Growth
Private sector participation is also growing. DIA has invested € 50 million in a new, sustainable logistics centre in Dos Hermanas; Mercadona has allocated € 32 million to strengthen its distribution network; and Aquila Capital recently acquired a 75,000 m² logistics site in Málaga as part of its green investment strategy.
A Strategic Gateway Between Continents
Andalusia’s strategic advantages are clear: a privileged geographic location linking Europe, Africa and the Americas; strong multimodal infrastructure including Spain’s leading container port and five international airports; and the upcoming Mediterranean Corridor high-speed rail link, which will shift freight from road to rail. Combined with a skilled workforce and competitive operating costs, these factors position Andalusia as a prime destination for logistics and industrial investment.
