NEW: Hotel/ B&B Finca Mariposa, is located in the beautiful Andalusian countryside and is built in Moorish style with many arches and rustic features. There are 7 comfortably furnished apartments, a professional communal dining kitchen and has terraces all around to enjoy the sun or the cooling shade. The complex has been a successful all-inclusive hotel/bed & breakfast for over 20 years and welcomes guests who love being in the middle of nature, with local amenities and hiking opportunities close by.
The views from the finca are impressive, looking up to the La Maroma, the highest mountain in the Axarquía, and down over the rolling hills to the Mediterranean Sea. The pool is surrounded by nature where you only hear birdsong and maybe the ringing of bells from a few grazing goats. The garden has many Mediterranean trees and shrubs, making it low-maintenance. There is also space to create a vegetable garden with fruit trees, so you can become self-sufficient!
The property is also perfect for a wellness retreat or to host group holidays such as art classes, cooking workshops and yoga sessions, as well as cycling trips with the option of having the bikes delivered to your doorstep. In the past, the hotel has also functioned as a party venue for weddings, for example.
The Natural Park with the backdrop of the Sierra de Tejeda Mountain range is on the doorstep and offers plenty of hiking opportunities including one of Andalusia's new highlights, the 'El Saltillo' trail between Sedella and Canillas de Aceituno where you will cross one of the three longest suspension bridges in Spain! The visitor center in Sedella offers excursions in and around the natural park and has an exhibition of the flora & fauna of the area as well as a small gift shop.The winery Sedella Vinos, is located just outside the village and produces premium organic mountain wine, they also offer tastings and tapas tours.
Sedella, a pretty white mountain village, is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk. Here you will find all the amenities needed including a supermarket, a small weekly market, a restaurant, and two bars, there is also a 'chiringuito' (open air bar) for the summer months as well as a municipal swimming pool, 5 aside football pitch, padel court and a fully fitted gym. You can be eating fish on the beach at Torre del Mar in 40 minutes and in the vibrant city of Málaga in just over an hour's drive. Besides that you can enjoy skiing in the wintermonths on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada in around 2 hours!
DESCRIPTION
Finca Mariposa is accessed via approx. 1 km of well-maintained dirt track with parking for several vehicles as well as a garage/workshop.
Apartment 1;
A door from the parking area takes you into the first apartment which could be used as the owner's accommodation. Here we find a kitchen (25m2) with a log burning stove. Leading off from the kitchen is a roof terrace (40m2) with panoramic views. A hallway from the kitchen takes you to the bedroom (10m2), bathroom (8m2) and a lounge / second bedroom (15m2) with a log burning stove and brick arched windows allowing the light to flood in and open up the stunning countryside views.
Back to the parking area, a pretty brick archway takes you onto a landing giving access to 4 more apartments.
