In recent years, I have found that the Belgian dark winter months have had an increasingly harsh effect on my mood. But after doing a job at the last World Cup in Quatar, the contrast between the sunny desert weather and the wet cold Belgian weather was too much. So I decided to investigate whether a place in southern Spain was a viable option. Having already visited some houses with both Belgian and Dutch estate agents, I ended up in the village of Sedella, rather by chance via the Second Home Andalusia website.

testimonial casa suenosFrom Belgium I looked for some estate agents who could help me with my search, I booked a flight and a hotel and the search could begin. Having already visited some houses with both Belgian and Dutch estate agents, I ended up in the village of Sedella, rather by chance. Just the trip to the village had a big wrap on me: a winding mountain road that gave you the impression that it stops somewhere at the top of a mountain. Below the large Arch, which serves as a kind of gateway to the white village, Caroline was waiting for me. We walked together through the picturesque streets until we reached the cottage I had indicated on the Second home Andalusia website.

Caroline gave me all the time I needed to view the cottage and it was actually exactly how I had imagined it by the good description on the website. After the visit, she told me that there was another cottage for sale in Sedella. Impressed by the village's charm, I thought it was a good idea to check out that cottage too. Among the white houses and streets, we stepped towards it. Visiting Casa Suenos, I immediately felt: this is it! A small but nice house with all the expectations we had in mind. My wife was working as a journalist in Ukraine at the time, but with a good internet connection I could show her the house on my phone. She too was immediately charmed by Casa Suenos.

After that, everything went very quickly. Caroline and Malcolm arranged the Spanish lawyer and notary, and already on 18 April we signed the deed of sale. The transfer of the electricity and water contract was also arranged for us. As my wife is a journalist, we also needed a good internet connection quickly. Caroline made an appointment for us and on day 2 after our purchase, the connection was already in place. In the entire purchase procedure, we didn't encounter a single problem. Everything went smoothly and naturally.

And now that we have been there a few times, Caroline and Malcolm are always available if we have any questions. We can consider ourselves lucky to have found this gem and to have been able to buy it in a very pleasant way...long live the peace and beauty of Sedella!
