CASA COPPE, SEDELLA
Overview
NEW: Casa Coppe is easily reached via the main mountain road and a short stretch of well-maintained dirt and concrete road. Despite being in a small group of houses, the property has great privacy and spectacular views.
The cortijo offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a studio with kitchenette and toilet, a garage, pool, and a lush Mediterranean garden. The house features several terraces, including a shaded woodland area that provides a cool retreat during summer. Rustic details such as high beamed ceilings and wooden shutters add authentic Andalusian charm. Thanks to its layout, the property is also ideal for use as a B&B or holiday rental, as one of the bedrooms has its own entrance.
The traditional white village of Sedella is just a 5-minute drive away and offers all basic amenities: supermarket, small weekly market, bars and restaurants. Local recommendations include:
• Restaurante El Chiringuito, here serves Victor daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Posada Puente Romano, where César offers a changing menu of homemade dishes.
• Cosy bars on the village square, a grocery shop and in summer the open-air Bar El Chiringuito de Rafa.
• Facilities such as a gym, playground, padel court, municipal summer pool, and a visitor centre with exhibitions on flora & fauna and guided hiking tours.
• Sedella Vinos, a boutique organic mountain winery offering tastings and tapas tours.
Along the mountain roads you can still see goats and mules used by locals to work the land! At the edge of the village begins the Sierra de Tejeda Natural Park, with numerous walking routes including the spectacular El Saltillo trail between Sedella and Canillas de Aceituno — where you cross one of Spain’s three longest suspension bridges (50 m).
The property is close to the main road to Sedella and Canillas de Aceituno; it’s just 40 minutes to the coast at Torre del Mar, 60 minutes to Málaga airport, and in just 2 hours you have reached Granada.
DESCRIPTION OUTSIDE
Casa Coppe is accessed via a gravel driveway with a spacious garage and parking for several cars. An iron gate opens onto the pool terrace with a kidney-shaped pool (32 m²).
Walking further behind the pool, there’s a plot of land suitable for a vegetable garden.
Next to the pool is the summer kitchen (3.35 x 1.65 m), which also connects to the garage and boiler room (gas).
From the driveway, turning right, a large terrace with an outdoor kitchen leads along a balcony-like path to the kitchen entrance. On the side is the woodland garden with a terrace that opens to the living room.
The numerous mature trees and plants that surrounds this country house contribute to complete privacy and create a lovely, Mediterranean atmosphere.
DESCRIPTION INSIDE
From the terrace on the right-hand side of the house, French doors open into the bright kitchen (3.75 x 3.50 m). Straight ahead is the spacious living room (7.15 x 3.25 m) with many windows and the main front door leading to the sheltered garden terrace. This room has central heating, a ceiling fan, air conditioning and a wood burner for winter. From the kitchen, you enter the dining room (12.3 m²) with French doors on the left leading to the patio (52 m²).
Continuing straight, a hallway leads to the bathroom (2.20 x 2.60 m) and the master bedroom (3.75 x 4.75 m) with built-in wardrobes, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Crossing the patio leads to the second large bedroom (3.10 x 5.60 m), again with built-in wardrobes, ceiling fan, air conditioning and en-suite bathroom (1.50 x 3.05 m). From this room there’s direct access to the parking area and pool.
A wrought-iron spiral staircase on the patio leads to a large south-facing terrace (22 m²) overlooking the patio and offering beautiful panoramic views. Here you’ll find the studio (4.75 x 5 m), with kitchenette, wood burner, air conditioning, and a separate toilet (1.2 m², sanibroyeur). Double doors open onto the balcony (2 x 4.5 m) with views of the pool and gardens.
Windows are aluminium (except for the kitchen door, which is PVC) with double glazing; most have wooden shutters or doors. A long terrace at the right side of the house leads you through double doors into the bright kitchen (13,5 m2).

Casa Coppe is a spacious cortijo style house with lots of atmosphere, beautiful views, a large patio and swimming pool. The house is sheltered and is easily accessible from the main road towards Sedella and Canillas de Aceituno. The layout of the house and the large studio on the first floor makes it very suitable for running a small B&B.
