Cortijo Marrillo, Sedella
Overview
NEW: Cortijo Marrillo is a pretty country farmhouse, full of character and features usually found in the original cortijos with traditional floor tiles and beamed ceilings as well as a rustic style kitchen. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 large family bathroom and a pool. There is a pretty covered front terrace area surrounded by plants where you can enjoy al-fresco dining shaded from the heat of the sun. The gently sloping plot is full of fruit trees including lemon, orange, mandarin and avocado. There is even a chicken coop and a dog kennel on the land helping to fulfill the farming lifestyle!
It takes only a 5-minute drive to reach Sedella which has all village amenities you require like bars and restaurants, some shops, a weekly market and a visitors’ center which offers regular excursions in and around the natural park including walking trips, mountain climbing, wild orchid walks, mushroom picking and there is an exhibition of the natural park as well as a small gift shop.
There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the mountain range of sierras de tejeda almijara y alhama with La Maroma, the highest peak in the Axarquía region (2.079m), on the doorstep. It offers a great variety of walking opportunities including the new hiking trail ‘El Saltillo’ between Canillas de Aceituno and Sedella, where you will cross one of three highest and longest suspension bridges in Spain. The village also has its own winery, 'Sedella Vinos', producing premium organic mountain wine.
The property is accessed via a well-maintained dirt track only a few minute’s drive from the main mountain road, from here it's only a two-minute drive to two white villages close by, Sedella and Salares. The beaches of Torre del Mar and Caleta de Vélèz are just 40-minute away and the airport and the city center of Málaga can be reached in just over 1 hour.

Via a well-maintained track you go onto a gated gravel driveway with room for 2-3 vehicles. Going around to the front of the property there is a fully covered terrace from here you go around to the side of the property where there is another terraced area of 266m2 in total with a BBQ and a pizza oven.
An iron gateway takes you through to the pool (6x4m2) which is surrounded by terracing. From this area you have access to the land around the property.
Back to the house, we enter through the front door into the lounge/dining area (6x3m). There is a stone fireplace as well as an a/c unit for heating and cooling. To the right is the dining area, from here you enter, via an archway, into the rustic style kitchen (2.3x2.8m).
A hallway off from the dining area gives access to the family bathroom (2.3x1.6m), the single bedroom (2.7x2m) with built-in wardrobes and a small storage area housing the washing machine.
