padel feld und ball 840

At Second Home Andalusia, we strongly believe in finding the right balance between work and leisure. And that is exactly why we are so excited about our new shared hobby: paddle or padel  in Spanish! In fact, we recently started playing padel once a week, when we can, on the municipal padel court in the white mountain village of Sedella, and we'd love to tell you why we love this sport.

Padel, a popular racket sport that originated in Mexico back in the 1960s, has seen tremendous growth in recent years, especially here in Spain. It combines elements of tennis and squash and is played on a fenced court, which is smaller than a tennis court. What makes padel really unique is the glass (or concrete) walls surrounding the court, which make it possible to bounce the ball off the walls and create spectacular rallies.

What attracts us so much to padel is that it is an accessible sport for players of all levels. Whether you are a beginner or already experienced, padel offers fun and challenge for everyone. It is easy to learn and the compact court makes for a faster and more dynamic game than tennis, for example. Moreover, you can play it in both singles and doubles, making it a social and sociable activity.

La Axarquía, with its beautiful surroundings and pleasant climate, is a fine place to enjoy padel. We therefore like to get together every Tuesday evening after work to enjoy a nice outdoor sport, with a view of the mountains, and relax with a tapa and drink after.

Our weekly padel adventures have not only helped keep us active, but it also adds to the team spirit. It's a great way to de-stress. So, if you are up for a game of padel, call us for an appointment!

See you soon at the padel court in Sedella!
