Finca Almendro, Comares
Overview
NEW: Finca Almendro is situated on a country road without dirt track, between the villages of Comares and Colmenar. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and has a Moroccan feel, with many rustic features, as well as a beautiful, light and bright sunroom that gives access to a large roof terrace where you can sit and take in the stunning views of the mountains and rolling Andalusian countryside. The beautiful gardens are full of mature shrubs and flowers such as lavender, rosemary, freesias, daisies and succulents. The trees include fig, nispero, olive, almond and cypress.
The property has been successfully rented out on the holiday rental market over the past few years, and the license is still in place.
Just a 5-minute walk from the house, you will find an authentic country bar called ´El Niño´, serving traditional homemade food. Here you can dine with the locals and try the local tipple of vino del terreno.
The traditional Moorish hilltop village of Comares is a 10-minute drive away. At around 700 metres, it is the highest village in the region and is known as the `Balcony of the Axarquía` for its spectacular views. Its Moorish layout, with winding streets and hidden corners, gives it a truly magical character. There is a supermarket, a couple of bars, as well as the charming hotel and restaurant El Molino de los Abuelos. For the more adventurous, Comares has the longest zip wire in Spain.
The coastal town of Torre del Mar and the city of Málaga are both a 45-minute drive away.
DESCRIPTION OUTSIDE
Finca Almendro has two access points: a concrete driveway next to the property and a gravel driveway with a carport on the lower level.
We start at the concrete driveway, which provides easy access to the house via the front door. From here, we move to the side of the property where there is a raised terrace with a beautiful old olive tree and a hot tub spa; perfect for cooling off in the summer, as well as enjoying a warm spa experience in the winter months.
There is also space on this terrace for outdoor dining and sunbathing while soaking up the incredible views. To the side of the terrace is a gently sloping meadow area with olive trees, which in spring is filled with wildflowers.
Steps from here lead down to a handy storage shed, and a further set of steps takes you down to the graveled carport area.
DESCRIPTION INSIDE
You enter the house via the front door into the cosy lounge (4.20 x 3.75 m), with air conditioning and a log burner for the winter months.
From here, an archway leads into the galley kitchen (4.15 x 1.80 m). Another archway at the end of the kitchen takes you into the hallway (3.90 x 1.70 m), where to the right there is a double bedroom (3.40 x 3.25 m) with air conditioning.
Steps lead up to a small room (2.70 x 2.45 m), currently fitted with bunk beds, making it a family room. This space could also be used as a dressing room.
Further down the hallway on the left, there is a spacious family bathroom (2.70 x 2.10 m). At the end of the hallway is the utility/storage room (4.85 x 2.65 m).
An open staircase in the hallway takes you up to the landing (3.85 x 1.95 m), giving access to the master bedroom (4 x 3.10 m) with air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom (2.80 x 0.95 m).
Back on the landing, a door leads through to the sunroom / third bedroom (19.85 m²), also with air conditioning. From here, sliding doors open onto the large roof terrace (6.50 x 3.85 m), where the views are spectacular.
