Our goal is to help you find your dream home from all the properties that are for sale in the Axarquia area of Andalusia, in which we specialize. We have no shop window or many houses for sale in our portfolio because we believe in personal attention and tailor-made offers; therefore we normally work on a specific request basis. The houses you see here are 'special' in one way or another: full of character, built or renovated to a high standard, having great views or are set in nice locations. On top of that, they have passed a first legal check. Take a look and let us know how we can help you further.

Overview

NEW: Casa Palomero is a beautifully restored traditional olive mill with 3-4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, full of traditional features such as terracotta flooring, niches, thick walls and beamed ceilings. The newer house, Casa Belotta has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, is built in a rustic style with beamed wooden ceilings and sits above with its own access, both houses enjoying the peacefulness of the countryside. The properties are located between the traditional white villages of Salares and Archez.

The newer house, Casa Belotta has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, is built in a rustic style with beamed wooden ceilings and sits above with its own access, also enjoying the peacefulness of the countryside. Both properties are surrounded by nature and attractive garden areas with established Mediterranean planting.

The properties are located between the traditional white villages of Salares and Archez (both a five-minute drive away) where you can see the original Moorish church bell towers reflecting the history of the area. Every September Salares celebrate their history with a Moorish Festival, Al-Sharq, where the locals dress up in Arabic attire and you can enjoy North African food, mint tea and watch displays of falconry as well as belly dancing and live music late into the night!

There are small supermarkets and restaurants in both villages. Archez has a very popular restaurant Venta El Curro specializing in Argentinean beef cooked on a BBQ / spit. The area is well known for its hiking opportunities as the property is located close to the Natural Park of the Tejeda, Almijara & Alhama.

The popular vibrant white village of Cómpeta is only a 20-minute drive away offering many amenities including outdoor adventure companies, public swimming pool, banks, fuel station, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and tapas bars as well as a weekly market selling all the local artisan products, fresh fruit & vegetables etc.

The coast at Algarrobo is a 30-minute drive and the beautiful city of Málaga is just over a 1 hours’ drive away and you can be skiing in the Sierra Nevada / Granada in just under 2 hours.

DESCRIPTION CASA PALOMERO

From the front terrace (2.7 x 14 m) there are two accesses into the house, we enter through the main entrance, a traditional wooden door taking you into the hallway (11m2) to the right is the office /study (2.50 x 3.20m) at the end of the hallway there are double doors giving access to the central patio (4 x 3.60 m).

From the hallway to the left is the lounge area also with a log burner set in a traditional brick fireplace and two inset windows with window seats. Off from the lounge there is a "hobby room" (4.50 x 2.70 m).

Crossing the hallway, a door takes you into the spacious traditional country kitchen/diner (30.35m2) with a log burner for the winter months situated where the old olive press used to be, here you will also find one of the original wells where the first pressed olive oil was stored. There is an old stable door from the kitchen taking you out onto the front terrace.
From the kitchen, a door takes you into a small hallway giving access to the pretty cobblestoned central patio with a small fish pond. Back in the hallway there is a single bedroom (2.55 x 3 m) and a family bathroom (1.90 x 1.65 m).

A staircase takes you up to a landing, on the right is a double bedroom (15.3m2) with French doors opening up to a curved balcony overlooking the patio. Walking to the other side of the landing there is a twin bedroom (4.75 x 3.10 m) also with French doors and curved balcony overlooking the patio. Back on the landing, you go through to a hallway giving access to a family bathroom (1.85 x 3.05 m) and a music room (3 x 4.30 m) with a log burner for the winter months, this room could also be used as a fourth bedroom.

At the other end of the hallway is a large utility/store room (3.65 x 3.0 m) with a door leading out onto the side terrace (27m2) where there is a large log store. From here, some steps take you down to an attractive cobblestone courtyard (84m2) with a beautiful false peppercorn tree in the center. This would make a wonderful place for an outdoor kitchen / BBQ dining area.
